Joseph Mechavich — Conductor
Mark Danni — Stage Director
Composed by Gian Carlo Menotti in 1946, the psychologically intense and ghostly chamber opera The Medium tells the story of Madame Flora, a fraudulent psychic whose fevered imagination leads to tragedy. An exploration of the nature of reality, the paranormal and innocence, The Medium has been called a "first class musico-theatrical work" that appeals equally to lovers of theater, opera and even film. Join Opera Naples and the Naples Philharmonic as they stage this mid-century masterpiece in the intimacy of the Daniels Pavilion.
Preceded by Gian Carlo Menotti's short comic opera The Telephone.
