November 13 & 15: TransAtlantic by Colum McCann
Three transatlantic crossings between 1845 and 1998 are intricately connected by the stories of remarkable women whose lives are caught up in the swells of history. TransAtlantic is a profound meditation on identity and history in a wide world that grows somehow smaller and more wondrous with each year.

This lecture is part of Elaine Newton's Critic’s Choice series, featuring contemporary literature’s most compelling works.

Please note: The November 13 lecture will be held in the Daniels Pavilion. The November 15 lecture will be held in Hayes Hall.
