Elgar — Enigma Variations
Kevin Puts — Georgia O’Keeffe and the Brightness of Light

Celebrated and beloved soprano Renée Fleming returns to Hayes Hall to join the Naples Philharmonic in a performance of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts’ Georgia O’Keeffe and the Brightness of Light, a musical tribute to the romantic exchange of love letters between American artist Georgia O’Keeffe and innovative photographer Alfred Stieglitz. Co-commissioned by Artis—Naples, this special work will be performed while a reel displaying images of works by both celebrated artists is presented above the orchestra. Under the baton of guest conductor Juanjo Mena, principal conductor of the Cincinnati May Festival and former music director of the BBC Philharmonic, the orchestra also performs Edward William Elgar’s beautifully cryptic Enigma Variations.

Prelude at 7pm
Join the conductor before the performance for an insightful 30-minute prelude discussion about the program.
