Making her Naples Philharmonic debut, French conductor Marie Jacquot leads the orchestra in a program featuring Tchaikovsky’s beloved Violin Concerto, one of the composer’s finest works and one of the most popular in all of classical music, performed by violin master Vadim Gluzman. The program opens with Canadian composer Vivian Fung’s Earworms, a musical depiction of the constant barrage of music in our multitasking lives, and concludes with Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G Minor, arranged for orchestra by Schoenberg. This masterpiece of chamber music is given new life and grandeur in its orchestral iteration, highlighting the lush harmonies and intricate dialogue between instruments.
