Hooray for Hollywood
The Films of Myrna Loy and William Powell, Part 1
Artis—Naples Lifelong Learning
Rick Harris, lecturer
As the perfect wife, or as the perfect gentleman, together or separately, Loy and Powell embodied a kind of stylish elegance matched by no other duo. She began as an exotic vamp and became an American ideal. Powell, whether he was a thief or a butler, was ever debonair. Together as Nick and Nora, they sparkled; apart, they remained stellar.
