Böhme — Brass for Brass in E-flat Minor
Brahms — Sextet No. 1  in B-Flat Major

For this special program, musicians of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Naples Philharmonic unite to perform a selection of antiphonal brass works by Italian composer Giovanni Gabrieli, one of the first significant composers ever to write specifically for brass instruments, and Brahms’ Sextet in B-flat Major, the first of his chamber works for strings and a joyful work in Brahms’ signature style that belies the immense emotional turmoil taking place in the composer’s life at the time of its creation.

The Wang Chamber Music series is generously sponsored by David* and Cecile Wang.
