Artis—Naples, home of The Baker Museum and the Naples Philharmonic, is unique among cultural institutions nationwide, equally dedicated to both the visual and performing arts featuring artists of global distinction. Offering a unique range of programs — including music, film, dance, comedy, lectures and exhibitions featuring internationally acclaimed artists — our multidisciplinary approach cultivates a broader appreciation for art in its many forms.

In 2017, Artis—Naples acquired the Naples International Film Festival (NIFF), expanding its film offerings and providing a platform for the festival’s continued excellence and growth. NIFF celebrates the art of independent film and presents a carefully curated program of over 60 domestic and international narrative, documentary and short films from established and emerging filmmakers over the course of the four-day festival. In 2023, NIFF was named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “20 Great Film Festivals in Vacation Destinations.” The 16th annual Naples International Film Festival will take place October 24-27, 2024.

In keeping with its commitment to supporting artists living and working in Florida, Artis—Naples invites emerging and established artists to submit designs for the 2024 NIFF poster that address the theme of film as a multidisciplinary art form. To be eligible, artists must reside in or have a studio in the state of Florida. Artists must be 18 and older. Students who are currently enrolled (at the time of application) as candidates for undergraduate art or design-related degrees are not eligible to apply.

Artis—Naples has organized a jury to select the poster design. The jury will include: The Baker Museum Director and Chief Curator Courtney McNeil, NIFF Festival Producer Shannon Franklin and Naples Philharmonic Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly.

The selected artist will have their design featured on the 2024 NIFF poster, NIFF website, NIFF VIP badges and on the cover of the NIFF program book. The design may also be featured on NIFF commemorative merchandise. The selected artist will also have the opportunity to develop and lead a public educational program at The Baker Museum in collaboration with the Artis—Naples education department. The selected artist will receive:

  • An honorarium of $2,500
  • Four complimentary tickets to the NIFF Preview Party
  • Four complimentary tickets to the NIFF Opening Night Film and Party

Selection Process

The selected artist will be notified on or before July 31, 2024, and the winning design will be publicly announced at the NIFF Preview Party taking place in mid-September 2024.
