Three Iconic Philosophers on Art and Music:
Plato

Marcia Eaton's Three Iconic Philosophers on Art and Music Series
Artis—Naples Lifelong Learning

Marcia Eaton, Professor Emeritus, University of Minnesota

Plato believed that beauty is as important as goodness and truth. However, he also believed that artists should not be welcome in an ideal society, though he did acknowledge a minor role for musicians. Why? This presentation is part of Marcia Eaton's Three Iconic Philosophers on Art and Music lecture series.
