Lots of lines in all directions.
In the middle the bright yellow
Gives me a feeling of joy.
Happiness and green grass.
Thinking about sunshine.

A painting of modern and happiness
a feeling that you could feel
every day
and every night.
Even at a party
it could show you
the ways of emotions that makes you feel better
even in the bad ones
and sad ones.
It’s like a beautiful place to be
when you feel lonely as if it whispered to you
and said hey do you feel sad?
And you would stare at it and feel better.
It is nice and modern and makes thing feel not bland
and more funky in a way.
Like a corn maze that tells you to never give up
if one mistake happens it won’t stop you too.

The poetry on this page was written by Collier and Lee county students in connection with the exhibition Three Degrees of Separation: Artistic Connections in the Permanent Collection. We hope you enjoy reading these poetic responses to the artworks in this exhibition from students in the community. This student poetry project was organized by Jessie Wozniak, school and family programs manager.
