An orchestral training ensemble for motivated young musicians, the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (NPYO) provides opportunities for middle and high school students in Lee and Collier counties to perform a wide-range of music, including classical, pop and film score selections.
This intensive program places accomplished young musicians in rehearsal and performance settings with the Naples Philharmonic, one of the country’s most highly-regarded young orchestras.
Twice a year, the NPYO performs Side by Side concerts with the Naples Philharmonic under the baton of featured guest conductors and NPYO director Charles Gottschalk. In December and April, the youth orchestra performs free holiday and spring concerts at Naples High School.
Auditions are held in the fall and spring for all instruments. Once selected, student musicians rehearse on Sundays from September through May and receive monthly coaching sessions from Naples Philharmonic musicians.
The Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is generously underwritten by The Stonisch Foundation.
April 21—25, 2014
