Director, Naples Philharmonic Youth Jazz Orchestra
Brandon L. Robertson is an Emmy-nominated music director, notable upright/electric bassist, composer and music educator originally from Tampa, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts in music performance from Florida State University in 2009 and a Master of Music in jazz performance in the spring of 2016.
As a prominent bandleader, Brandon has taken his band on multiple national tours, headlining at some of the top jazz venues in the country, including The Palladium, Andy’s Jazz Club and more. To add to his impressive resume, Brandon has performed with numerous notable acts such as the world-famous Count Basie Orchestra, Jason Marsalis, Marcus Roberts and others. He has also toured 22 countries in Europe, traveling from the Mediterranean up to the capital of Iceland. In addition, Brandon has been featured as a performer and bandleader at various national jazz festivals.
Currently, Brandon is the recipient of the John & Dorothy Guigon endowed directorship of jazz studies at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Brandon was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Documentary for Educational Collegiate Programs featuring the FGCU Jazz Ensemble.
