Youth Symphonia


Auditions

NPYS audition registration for the 2024-25 season is now closed.

The Naples Philharmonic Youth Symphonia accepts students between the ages of 10 and 17. Students planning to audition for the NPYS should have mastered Suzuki Book 3 or its equivalent. For additional information, please email YouthSymphonia@artisnaples.org.

Audition Requirements

  • One prepared solo piece of student choice. This piece should demonstrate the student’s musical and technical abilities. 
  • One two- (or three-) octave scale of student choice.
  • Students may be asked to sight read a short passage.

Rehearsals

The Naples Philharmonic Youth Symphonia normally rehearses on Saturday from 9am-12pm.

Tuition

Annual tuition for the Naples Philharmonic Youth Symphonia is $350. Some scholarships are available.

Under the direction of Naples Philharmonic violinist Gregg Anderson, the Naples Philharmonic Youth Symphonia (NPYS) is a string training ensemble for motivated elementary school through high school student musicians. Members of the NPYS have the opportunity to perform in chamber and full string ensemble settings representing a wide range of genres, including classical, popular and film music.

The Naples Philharmonic Youth Symphonia performs each season on the Artis—Naples Kimberly K. Querrey and Louis A. Simpson Cultural Campus.
