Youth Chorus

Fall auditionshave concluded, but spaces are still available. Interested students are encouraged to register for an audition and a representative from the NPYC will be in touch about scheduling an audition time. The fee for the audition is $15 for those who are not currently a member of other Artis—Naples youth ensemble groups. The NPYC accepts students between the ages of 6 and 18. For additional information, please email YouthChorus@artisnaples.org.

Audition Requirements

Those wishing to audition should prepare a song of their choosing, 3-5 minutes in length, that showcases their vocal talents. All audition will be a cappella. Piano accompaniment or other music recordings are not permitted. Please bring a copy of your music to the audition. Applicants may also be asked to match pitch, clap rhythm patterns, sing back short melodic patterns and sight read.

The Naples Philharmonic Youth Chorus normally rehearses on Monday nights at the following times:
Cadet Choir: 5–5:45pm
Concert Choir: 6–7:15pm
Chamber Choir: 6:30–7:45pm

Annual tuition for the Naples Philharmonic Youth Chorus is $200. The one-time music fee is $35. Some scholarships are available.

The Naples Philharmonic Youth Chorus (NPYC) provides young singers ages 6–18 performance opportunities including performances with the Naples Philharmonic in Hayes Hall and at distinct community events. The NPYC includes singers in elementary, middle and high school with unchanged voices. NPYC rehearses in groups divided by age and ability on Monday evenings on the Artis—Naples Kimberly K. Querrey and Louis A. Simpson Cultural Campus. There are three ensembles of the Naples Philharmonic Chorus based on age and ability:

Cadet Choir is for first and second grade singers. At this level, children participate in basic vocal development activities, note reading, rhythmic movement activities and simple choral score study. No audition is required for this level.

Concert Choir is for singers in third grade and above. This is an intermediate-level choir that focuses on two and three-part treble singing. In this ensemble, particular emphasis is on music reading, vocal techniques and rhythm studies. This level performs with the Naples Philharmonic and the Naples Philharmonic Chorus.

Chamber Choir is the most musically advanced ensemble of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Chorus. This ensemble focuses on music reading skills, exposure to diverse works and advanced treble literature. This level performs with the Naples Philharmonic and the Naples Philharmonic Chorus.
