Cornell Gunter’s Coasters
Get ready for an evening of timeless tunes and infectious energy as Cornell Gunter’s Coasters bring their signature blend of doo-wop, R&B and comedy to Daniels Pavilion. Known as the “Clown Princes of Rock ’n’ Roll,” the group delivers crowd-pleasing performances packed with vintage flair and nonstop fun.
Originally formed in 1955, The Coasters found meteoric success after partnering with songwriting legends Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, launching a string of hits that helped define early rock ’n’ roll. With songs like Searchin’, Yakety Yak, Charlie Brown, Poison Ivy and Young Blood, their sound captured the spirit of an era — and their witty lyrics and spirited vocals made them a standout act of the time. In 1987, they earned the honor of being the first vocal group inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With Cornell Gunter’s Coasters carrying the torch, this nostalgic concert promises an irresistible mix of musical history, playful showmanship and unforgettable classics.
