Blending behind-the-scenes storytelling with performance of the songs Foster helped shape, the program draws from a celebrated catalog spanning such artists as Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, Chicago, Josh Groban and more. Together, Foster and McPhee bring their natural chemistry to the stage, offering a personal look at the music and stories behind some of pop music’s most beloved hits.

David Foster is one of the most illustrious composers of our time. With 16 Grammy Awards, including three for Producer of the Year; an Emmy Award; a Golden Globe; and three Oscar nominations for Best Original Song, Foster has earned a reputation as a keen spotter of new talent, playing a key role in the discovery and career launches of Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé.
Few other individuals can claim to have their fingerprints on more major moments in all of popular music than David Foster. He has created hit songs for a diverse array of artists including Barbra Streisand; Celine Dion; Whitney Houston; Michael Jackson; Madonna; Andrea Bocelli; Michael Bublé; Josh Groban; Rod Stewart; Stevie Wonder; Earth, Wind & Fire; Diana Krall; Natalie Cole; Michael Bolton; Seal; Chaka Khan; Kenny Rogers; Dolly Parton; Chicago; Hall & Oates; Brandy; NSYNC; Boz Scaggs; and Gloria Estefan.
Foster is gearing up to take on Broadway with several projects, including writing the music for a new musical about the iconic animated character Betty Boop. He is also writing the music for a musical based on Amy Bloom’s New York Times bestselling novel Lucky Us.

Katharine McPhee
Katharine McPhee is one of a handful of artists who takes the lead in a career that includes film, television, Broadway, recording and touring.
McPhee first burst onto the scene in 2006 during a storied run on American Idol season 5, finishing in second place. Her first single, Somewhere Over the Rainbow/My Destiny, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart, while her 2007 self-titled album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. She has since released several additional solo albums, including Unbroken, Hysteria and I Fall in Love Too Easily. She also teamed up with her husband, legendary producer David Foster, to release Christmas Songs.
As an actress, McPhee is well known for starring in the CBS drama series Scorpion and NBC’s musical drama Smash, executive produced by Steven Spielberg. She also starred in the Netflix comedy series Country Comfort. Her film credits include The House Bunny, Bayou Caviar and The Tiger Rising.
In 2018, McPhee made her Broadway debut as Jenna in the hit musical Waitress, featuring music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles. She later originated the leading role in the West End production and returned for the final weeks of the show’s original Broadway run.
A sought-after performer, McPhee has appeared in numerous PBS broadcasts and concert specials with artists including Andrea Bocelli, Chris Botti and David Foster.
