Jodie DeSalvo’s Piano Talks Simply Chopin

During his all-too-brief life and career, Polish composer and pianist Frédéric Chopin revolutionized the piano by introducing daring, original harmonies, chromaticism and dissonances that were years ahead of his time. He also redefined the étude as a concert piece; transformed the nocturne, mazurka and waltz into vehicles for intense self-expression; and pioneered new techniques for the seven-octave instrument. For the final Piano Talks performance of the season, Jodie puts her prodigious pianistic abilities to the test, performing a program of Chopin favorites to challenge her, and, like always, delight her legions of fans.

An Artis—Naples favorite, Jodie DeSalvo is a graduate of the Hartt and Manhattan schools of music and has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Jodie has been a frequent soloist with the Naples Philharmonic and is now in her 21st season performing at Artis—Naples as a soloist.
