The Naples Philharmonic Youth Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Brandon Robertson, performs a selection of arrangements of some of jazz’s most beloved tunes.

Naples Philharmonic Youth Jazz Orchestra
The NPYJO is an educational ensemble that has grown out of the success of the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra and the All That Jazz series. The NPYJO studies the repertoire and arrangements of jazz greats, such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Students also study jazz improvisation, small group arranging and original jazz composition techniques.

Brandon Robertson
Brandon Robertson
Brandon L. Robertson is an Emmy-nominated music director, notable upright/electric bassist, composer and music educator originally from Tampa, Florida. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in music performance from Florida State University in 2009 and a Master of Music in jazz performance in the spring of 2016.
Currently, Brandon is the recipient of the John & Dorothy Guigon endowed directorship of jazz studies at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Robertson was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Documentary for Educational Collegiate Programs featuring the FGCU Jazz Ensemble.
