Classically trained violist, stand-up comedian and filmmaker Isabel Hagen stars alongside Dylan Baker (Happiness/The Good Wife) and Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio/Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll) in her directorial debut, On a String, a dramedy inspired by her real-life experiences. Playing a Juilliard-trained violist living at home with her parents in New York City, Isabel is trying to make a living playing gigs with her friends. But when her toxic ex-boyfriend reappears, who also happens to be the philharmonic’s hot, new cellist, he informs her of a viola opening in the prestigious orchestra. Nothing can go wrong, right?

Called a “sharp quarterlife crisis” that “doesn’t fiddle around” (The Moveable Fest), On a String debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival to glowing reviews.
