Ryan, Mark, and Rose were best friends in college — though Ryan and Rose were always almost something more and Mark was always something of a cad. Years later, Ryan is set to be married, and Mark, still passionately non-monogamous himself, is his enthusiastic best man. When Mark runs into Rose a few hours before the ceremony, he is at first ecstatic that his old friend has made the event — until he finds out she’s there uninvited, intending to rectify what she considers the mistake of her youth.

In flashbacks, we see Rose and Ryan dance around what they never mention, while in the present day, despite — or perhaps because of — Mark’s increasing desperation, a litany of long-buried feelings and secrets both old and new threaten to ruin the event and sever the bonds of the trio’s once unshakeable friendship.
