Golf’s showman, Chi Chi Rodriguez, had humble beginnings in Puerto Rico, fetching balls for quarters on the golf course. But through relentless drive, he rose through the golf rankings and reached the PGA Tour in the 1960s, when golf was considered a sport for the privileged. With his unique style, engaging personality and sense of humor, he quickly became a favorite among fans, but he also had detractors, often having to defend his status as an American. Yet Rodriguez, a U.S. Army veteran, always refused to give up his identity. Featuring archival footage and interviews with those who knew him best, this inspiring documentary full of hope shows how hard work and determination pay off.
