Best known for his recurring role as Bill on the hit CW series Gilmore Girls, Devon M. Schwartz makes his feature-length directorial debut with Wake, a dramedy following four semi-estranged siblings who reunite for their father’s wake. Already navigating grief and their own complicated relationships, they soon find themselves clashing with their father’s overbearing side of the family in a tug-of-war over how best to say goodbye. As oblivious guests and a death-phobic funeral director add to the mounting chaos, the siblings fumble through an increasingly absurd day together. Amid the awkward encounters and family tensions, their strange new reality may offer something none of them expected: a chance to reconnect and begin rebuilding the bonds between them.
