Abandoned by her beloved father, Yale Parker, when she was 9 years old, Mackenzie has spent much of her life struggling with alcohol and run-ins with the law, creating a deep rift with her son, Ryan. When Ryan needs an emergency kidney transplant, his best chance at survival may lie with the last person Mac wants to ask for help: the father she hasn’t seen in 30 years.

Their reunion becomes even more complicated when Yale reveals a jaw-dropping secret: He has eight other families, and one of them may include a match who can save Ryan. As the unlikely pair set off on a road trip to track down Mac’s half-siblings, an unexpected bond begins to form between father and daughter, forcing them both to reckon with the family ties that have shaped their lives.
