The All That Jazz series opens with acclaimed guitarist Bobby Broom, whose inventive style blends soul, swing and sophistication. A longtime fixture of the Chicago jazz scene, Broom began performing professionally as a teenager with legends like Al Haig and Sonny Rollins. His playing — both deeply rooted in jazz and refreshingly unorthodox — brings new life to familiar tunes, whether exploring the grooves of Thelonious Monk or reworking rock and pop songs like Layla or Stand. With his expressive tone and rhythmic finesse, Broom offers a compelling blend of tradition and surprise that captivates audiences every time.
