With her warm tone, sharp phrasing and effortless command of swing, New York City–based trombonist Mariel Bildsten is making waves as one of jazz’s rising stars. A standout talent with credits ranging from Jazz at Lincoln Center to Carnegie Hall, she has performed alongside icons such as Jon Batiste, Wycliffe Gordon and Jennifer Hudson. Bildsten released her debut album Backbone in 2020, followed by Steppin’ Out in 2023 — both met with critical praise. In this performance with the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra, Bildsten brings her exuberant energy and masterful musicianship to center stage.
