Acclaimed New Orleans saxophonist Donald Harrison Jr. brings his signature “nouveau swing” to Daniels Pavilion in a high-energy performance with the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra. A musical gumbo of bebop, funk, hip-hop and R&B, Harrison’s style blends tradition with innovation, echoing the vibrant cultural tapestry of his hometown. Known as Big Chief of the Congo Square Nation Afro-New Orleans Cultural Group, Harrison has worked with jazz greats like Art Blakey and Terence Blanchard and appeared as himself in HBO’s Treme. This program promises the soulful spirit of the Crescent City, served with groove, grit and grace.
