Cassadó — Trio in C Major
Schubert — Trio in B-flat Major, Op.99

Experience the vibrant interplay of piano, violin and cello as the ATOS Trio brings three masterpieces to life in Daniels Pavilion. Haydn’s Trio in G Major, Hob. XV:25 “all’Ongarese,” bursts with folk-inspired rhythms and wit. Cassadó’s Trio in C Major then unveils lush harmonies and Spanish flair. Finally, Schubert’s Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 99 offers a lyrical journey rich in warmth and drama. Don’t miss this celebration of the breadth and depth of chamber music—and final Grand Piano Series recital of the season.

ATOS Trio

ATOS Trio

Formed in Berlin in 2003 by violinist Annette von Hehn, cellist Stefan Heinemeyer and pianist Thomas Hoppe, the ATOS Trio has established itself as one of the finest piano trios performing today. With distinguished interpretations, unbridled enthusiasm and absolute dedication, the ATOS Trio continues to delight audiences at concerts around the world.

After intensive studies with Ilan Gronich, Menahem Pressler and the Alban Berg Quartet, the Trio won the Deutsche Musikwettbewerb, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award and the Melbourne Chamber Music Competition. A New Generation Artists selection from the BBC and a Boletto Buitoni Award for artistic excellence soon followed. Since then, the ATOS Trio has performed in many of the world’s prestigious halls, including Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, Teatro Colón Buenos Aires and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, to name a few, with a repertoire that includes all the masterworks written for piano trio as well as many lesser-known treasures.

The ATOS Trio has recorded extensively, yet thoughtfully. Besides well-known works by Mendelssohn, Brahms, or Schumann, it was the complete trios by Heinrich von Herzogenberg which were hailed as “a treasure” by Germany’s Spiegel Online. Their French Album (Debussy, Chaminade, Francaix, Boulanger), Russian Album (Arensky, Rachmaninov, Shostakovich), Czech Album (Suk, Smetana, Dvorak) and Vienna Album (Korngold, Krenek, Kreisler) received similar accolades. Most recently, London’s Wigmore Hall published a two-CD set of the complete Beethoven piano trios Live at Wigmore Hall, recorded during two sold-out concerts.
