Inside Photography Photography: A Significant Influence in Creating Modern Art
Tony Chirinos, lecturer
In this lecture, Miami-based photographer Tony Chirinos examines how photography significantly influenced the rise of modern art by challenging traditional artistic methods, forcing painters to explore new expressive avenues and ultimately establishing photography itself as a legitimate art form. He will also detail how modern art emerged from a confluence of non-art forms, including the Industrial Revolution, technological advancements and philosophical shifts, all of which challenged traditional artistic conventions and fostered experimentation.
