Dark tales of death and deceit, featuring compromised heroes and wicked women, made film noir the antithesis of typical Hollywood. From early in the 1940s to the neo-noirs of the 1980s, join us as we enter a world of shadows that has become one of the defining styles of American film. Featured will be clips from classics like Double Indemnity, Out of the Past, Detour and Chinatown, as well as many less-celebrated but still-vivid films noir.
