Beth, a single mom, has just been laid off in the City of Angels. She struggles to maintain the appearance of a successful middle-class lifestyle, concealing the fact that she’s primarily living out of her car and bouncing around various neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Hoping to land a new job and change her situation before her estranged older brother Ben finds out, Beth must confront her own pride and reconnect with her brother in order to provide for her young daughter, Birdy. Meanwhile, Ben and his wife, Stacy, consider a third round of IVF. Stacy, a successful attorney, must reevaluate her own conflicted relationship with motherhood. Written and directed by Vivian Kerr, this indie drama is a scrappy and heartfelt meditation on femininity, motherhood and the hard realities of life in America.
