Selections from the Photography Collection
September 5 — November 3, 2015
Drawn entirely from The Baker Museum’s permanent collection, this exhibition presents four major themes that have attracted photographers since the invention of the medium in the 19th century: personalities, nature, architecture and place. Each image captures the atmosphere of a location or a candid moment in the life of a historical figure. With examples by noted practitioners such as Alfred Stieglitz, Berenice Abbott and Paul Strand, the selection highlights the variety of interpretations of the photographic medium. This exhibition complements the Schrenk Student Photography Exhibition.
This exhibition has been organized by Artis—Naples, The Baker Museum.
