Jorge Parodi, conductor

Obsession turns fatal in Gulfshore Opera’s presentation of one of the world’s most beloved operas — Carmen. Featuring a cast of world-class vocalists and the Naples Philharmonic under the direction of internationally acclaimed conductor Jorge Parodi, Carmen tells the tale of a striking and dangerous factory worker who yearns for love but instead creates jealously and obsession between the two men vying for her attention.

Celebrated as George Bizet’s masterpiece, Carmen, with its jaw-dropping sets and costuming combined with a beautiful blend of Spanish and French musical elements, still captivates audiences 150 years after its premiere shocked and scandalized them.
