Beethoven and Schubert
Naples Philharmonic Sypert Salon Chamber Music
Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic
Beethoven — Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 70, No. 2
Schubert — String Quartet in A Minor, “Rosamunde”
In the final Sypert Salon series program of the season, musicians of the Naples Philharmonic present two works of monumental scale and emotional depth, pairing Beethoven’s Piano Trio in E-flat Major with Schubert’s Quartet in A Minor. Beethoven’s Piano Trio opens the program with music that is relaxed, intimate and elegantly structured, showcasing a more balanced interplay among violin, piano and cello than in his earlier works in the genre. Schubert’s haunting and heartbreaking “Rosamunde” string quartet follows, its haunting lyricism and quiet intensity unfolding in music of deep introspection and brooding beauty, bringing the series to a thoughtful and resonant close.
