Son Plays Dumky
Naples Philharmonic Wang Chamber Music

Yeol Eum Son, piano
Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic

Debussy — String Quartet
Dvořák — Piano Trio in E Minor, “Dumky”

In high demand around the world as recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician, critically acclaimed South Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son joins musicians of the Naples Philharmonic for a performance that showcases her refined artistry and remarkable control. The Wang Chamber Music Series opens with members of the orchestra performing Debussy’s groundbreaking String Quartet, a colorfully rich, shimmering work partially influenced by Javanese gamelan. Son then joins the ensemble for Dvořák’s Dumky Piano Trio, a work that highlights her gift for delicate nuance and sharply drawn contrasts, shifting from dark, introspective lyricism to bursts of Bohemian fire, often in the blink of an eye.

The Wang Chamber Music series is generously sponsored by David* and Cecile Wang.
