Story adapted by Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb
Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic
Manuel López-Gómez, conductor
Jeanne Snedeker, narrator
Based on the beloved fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, The Snow Queen for narrator and chamber orchestra will take the audience through a guided tour of the orchestra and tell the story with orchestral accompaniment including interactive music games with the audience. The music games give the audience a deeper understanding of the orchestra's four families of instruments—strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. By exploring these groups in the context of the story, listeners can gain a better appreciation of how each section contributes to the mood and narrative. The unique setting at Daniels Pavilion allows for an intimate atmosphere, where the audience can closely engage with the Naples Philharmonic!
