Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic

Farrenc — Piano Trio in D Minor
Beethoven — String Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3

Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic explore the shifting musical landscape between the Classical and Romantic eras in a program highlighting Beethoven and Louise Farrenc.

The concert opens with Farrenc’s Piano Trio in D Minor, a work marked by lyrical elegance and expressive harmonic writing. Reflecting the influence of Viennese classicism, the trio gives equal weight to each instrument, creating a dynamic interplay that showcases both individual artistry and ensemble cohesion.

The program concludes with Beethoven’s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3 — part of the composer’s bold middle period. Celebrated for its structural innovation and dramatic range, the quartet moves from brooding introspection to moments of luminous wonder, capturing Beethoven’s evolving emotional and artistic voice.

The Sypert Salon Series is generously sponsored by Drs. George Sypert and Joy Arpin.
